Back to School

Well, after a summer full of hard and fun work, it is time to go back to school. I got home on Thursday and by Saturday was repacking my things to head back to school. Talk about busy! Thankfully I the things that I needed to get done were finished on time and I was able to spend some time with my family before school craziness happened.

So far I'm taking a 14 credit semester which is the lightest semester I've ever taken! I'm looking forward to a school load break. My schedule seems empty now, but I'm sure work and practice time will fill it up quickly! :) Speaking of work, I start work today as a Preschool Teacher at Time for Tots, the preschool on campus! I'm so thankful for how God has provided me with a job so quickly. It's such a relief and a blessing!

Here are some pictures of my dorm room. Hopefully it will be more decorated later and it will fell more homey. Thank you all for your prayers and enjoy! :)
ready for the first day of school!

My closet. Let's see how long it stays that clean!

the happiest little solar-powered flower that dances on my window sill.

My bed! It offers a great place for reading

My fun little shelves. I need a pic for one of the frames though!

I'll probably live here doing music theory... O joy :)

Hope you enjoy! Can't wait to see what this semester has in store for me.

Last Week of Camp

The summer is over and the last week of camp just finished! I think that this was my favorite week out of all of them. The kids were so sweet and precious and very open to God's working in their heart.

I have pictures to put up later but we don't have internet for that much longer so I'll put them up when I get back. I do have one that nicely sums up what I've been learning. Well, I've been learning a lot and it would take hours to explain but...

One theme is that the whole Bible is one big story and it's sad that we tend to chunk it into smaller stories. One of those themes is that God is light, good, and loves life. We see it with the creation of the world in Genesis and to the end continue to see it. God turns the ickyness of sin and darkness into something beautiful. He created the world from void, he saves sinners from sin, he changes trials into hope. I passage I read in Romans reminded me of this.

Romans 5 says "Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and (C)hope does not fail, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
